The Beauty of Life;
An Essay on Rachel Carson's Essay the "The Marginal World"
There is beauty within everything. Weather it's the ocean's shore or a tiny bird , you can find beauty in the simplest creatures. Only if you are not naive will you appreciate the beauty. The only way you will find beauty is if you pay attention to the life around you.
Life is beautiful. There is always something new in life. In "The Marginal World" by Rachel Carson the theme is that life is a creation that should be admired. I feel like Carson is trying to send me a message. Shes trying to say that the life of others is usually taken for granted. As humans we tend to think that our life is the only life that needs to be focused on. The creatures around us have no severe impact on our life. All that is untrue. She expresses life around us has positive and negative affects. The fact that a deer needs to cross the street to eat could kill the human in the oncoming car. What goes on in the ocean can affect us on land. This is why we should start acting like Carson and start paying attention to the small "less important" details in life.
The most beautiful creature in my eyes is a hummingbird. Its body looks as if an artist painted on the details of the bird. The delicate beak flows from its head. Like Carson, I pay very close attention to this bird. I like to study the way it goes about in the world. Although the habitat is very different from the habitat Carson enjoys studying, they have some similarities. Like the ocean, people find it interesting to sit down a watch the birds. The ocean's interaction with the shore reminds me of the birds interaction with the sky. When the ocean glazes the sand with cold water it is painting a picture.The birds smoothly fly throughout the air, almost as if the bird is painting a picture. The beauty of the bird, like the ocean, is captured with the eye and mind.
Webster's defines beauty as "the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind." It's talking about the fact that beauty can escape something for a moment. Beauty deserts the ocean when there is a hurricane, and it also deserts the hummingbird when the hummingbird is fighting for food. I would have to disagree with websters definition, I feel that beauty is life.

The key to success is knowledge:
An Essay on My View of the Theme of Fandolph Bourne's Essay "The Handicapped."
Knowledge is stronger than any man alive. It is something that you can use for yourself and something you can share with others. Like muscles, knowledge builds up overtime. Knowledge is something you should definitely share with others because it can help their future, and everyone around them's future.
Everyone's life has a theme. You do not usually realize your life's theme until you are older and have "seen it all". It is different for Randolph Bourne, the author of the essay, "The Handicapped". Bourne has an outtake on life that many people do not reach before death. He can tell that happiness doesn't only come from someone being kind to you, but it can come from you sharing kindness with others. The fact that he wishes to help others, although he needs help himself, amazes me. His lack of self pity is astonishing.The theme that Bourne is trying to establish in this essay is that we should share our knowledge no matter what, and do what you can before your time comes to an end. Bourne tried his best to share his knowledge. He tried to find peace within himself first. Once he realized that his looks can have a positive affect on his life, he started to educate others. He gives a clear image of what it would feel like in his position.
While reading this essay, the faint memory of my grandmother kept entering my thoughts. My grandmother, Phyllis Monroe Waite, was always helping others like Randolph Bourne. Everyone has problems,and to be able to ignore your problems and help others is a skill a lot of humans lack. Its not easy to help others when you need help yourself. My grandmother set up facilities to prevent and treat illnesses on the reservation, although she had illnesses of her own. I believe that the main reason she chose to establish the health care was because it was something that she could have used when she was growing up. If she did have this health care it could have prevented many illnesses and problems she had. Because my grandmother established the Mashantucket Health Department, she will be talked about for years. She will be remembered for her effort in helping others and preventing struggles for others, just like Bourne. The physical similarities between my grandmother and Bourne are small, but there hearts were both large.
Knowledge is something more powerful than muscles. Your knowledge can help determine what type of a person someone thinks of you as. It can also determine what mark you leave on the world. Share your knowledge, at all costs.
